Anyway, thank you! I'm glad you liked Petunia's backstory and reasoning; they're not the only explanation I can come up with for her canon actions, but I really think a lot of her treatment of Harry (and of Dudley) makes most sense when viewed as a reaction to her relationship with Lily, and the way magic's existence damaged that relationship.
I found Dudley adorable in the opening chapters of DH. I like to think he continued to work at being a decent human being, and that he and Harry got on much better as adults living separately than they did as children trapped in a dysfunctional household. :-)
