i mean really, and this is all the original fic's idea, but can you imagine kara without her viper? or if she never went to flight school? i think she knows those birds saved her, in a way a person never did, and i think that's super lonely but super touching at the same time. (also, if she was some cylon hybrid-ish thing, it makes sense she would be good with machines.)
