Oh, that is really interesting! I love how you took the idea of Tom not being set in his plans from the very beginning -- that his intentions evolved -- and explored all the different things he might have tried to do or become. I especially like the paragraphs on not wanting to be a Parselmouth (because he wants to make his own destiny) and on needing to be a bigger monster than his internal demons.
