Ah, well. I did get someone else to check it for me, so I was fine. It was just me being worried. (And now that you've seen the fic you know there's precious little canon to worry about!) It's not like I haven't seen every single ep of TW. (I admit to skipping out on the radio plays so far. I'm hard of hearing so the idea of listening only is rather torturous. I prefer TV with subtitles on if I can get them.)
I tend to miss out on a lot of fic fests for good causes, like the Characters of Color one, mostly because I don't really hang out on LJ. I write, I come post some writing, I go back to writing. I'm like a machine that way. /grins/ But that's one I wish I'd seen. My life has been filled with so many different kinds of people, I like honoring the rainbow of variety that is the spice of life.
FWIW I try to remind people that the purpose of the comm is to *remix* the existing fic, not write a sequel to it. I can see the allure in writing what comes next, but that's not a remix at all IMHO. So I tried to really just distill your story down to what had to happen - in my mind, 1) Ianto being in a frame of mind because of the alien encounter and 2) the rude man on the street causing a conflict exacerbated by Ianto's frame of mind. Those two things - and the Janto pairing of course - were the sole things that were verboten to mess with as they were critical to the soul of your story. Past that, whether the encounter happened before or after dinner, or if they had pizza or curry wasn't that big a deal. (Though I did miss a line I wanted in there about the spicy flavor still lingering in Ianto's mouth. Ah well...)
I'm going to have to scout out the remix you wrote this round and give it and the original a look. But *after* my big bang edit is done. /is bad about procrastinating/ Hehehe
Oh, but keep an eye out for The Chill That Steals. That's my big Janto fic, probably out in early August at some decent sized TW comm, I'm sure. It's been so long I've forgotten which I post to. /grins/
