Oh, Peter here is so real. In these vivid scenes you show wonderfully how his understanding of his chances to have someone for himself develops. I do like (and also follow in my fanfic) the idea that Peter’s position was like this: he did truly belong to the Marauders, but he ended up pushed aside, not being the most important one – eventually not important enough at all – for anyone.
