Yeah, I think in retrospect I should have sharpened the negative aspects of Petunia's character some more. *sigh* On the other hand, perhaps one can think of this story as a minor attempt to balance out the legions of misunderstood!woobie!Snapes floating around the internet?
(I have never understood why Snape is beloved and Petunia hated and/or ignored by fandom at large. I mean, they're both physically unattractive, they both abuse their authority over Harry, they're both selfish and childish in many ways, they're both obsessed with Lily, and they are both, in very backhanded, ineffective ways, trying to keep Harry safe. But Snape gets rehabilitated while Petunia is either ignored or made into a raving bitch as part of stories wherein the Dursleys practically murder Harry and then dump him on the streets. *sigh* Oh fandom, your double standards are showing again...)
