Oh I'm so delighted that you enjoyed this! I loved working with Castiel in this verse -- I had a big freakout in the middle of the writing because I wanted to do too much with it. Wiser heads talked me out of veering the story into a completely different direction (though I do plan to make that subplot a story of its own), and I ended up very pleased with where this went.

I am in fact a fan of Firefly, though I'd only written a couple of ficlets before this, and wasn't at all sure how well I'd pull off the voices. I just loved the idea of Castiel and Mal, because one of my bulletproof kinks as a writer is the struggle to resolve unbelief and faith -- I wanted to bring Castiel and Mal together but not completely negate his issues with his faith. He'll still be a tough one, I think.

I want to see fanart of Castiel in appropriate dress too! (Plus tightpants!)

And Book coming up with the Shirleyites gave me a secret glee. I would love to see what they're like.

I'm so, so glad you liked this -- I had a tough time deciding between this and another with just Sam and Dean, but this is the one that tugged at my story kink, and I do adore writing Castiel.
